Black Friday | To Buy or Not To Buy

I had big plans for this Black Friday, a lot of indie brands put on some good sales and my intent was to pick up a few items from a few that I’ve had my eyes on. However I’ve had to amend my plans, there will be no black Friday purchases this year. Mainly due to finances, I can’t responsibly afford to make any purchases, and since having debt is not my idea of a good thing, I’ve decided to be a responsible adult and not spend money I don’t have.

As someone who probably spends far too much time on Instagram, I often see sneak peaks from brands about new products that they are about to release. Sometimes the peaks are annoying because they draw it out and prolong it, so any anticipation you had has faded.

The Details | Birthdays Are Always A Good Excuse - Coloured Raine, Juvia's Place and Nars

I made a few purchases near the end of February and a little into March, I'll use my birthday as a valid excuse, not that I need one but mentally it kinda makes me feel better.

Honestly I wasn't crazy in love with the Coloured Raine Cheers to the Beauty palette, I do really like their shadow formula though, and always enjoy when I use my Queen of Hearts palette. So when the Cheers to the Beauty palette went on sale, I thought that it was the perfect time to pick it up. Not wanting to get dinged with customs again, I sent it to my aunts house.

This month’s new makeup post is going to seem pretty packed. Contrary to what it may look like I didn’t actual buy all of this in one month, in fact most of it was bought almost a year ago. I might have mentioned before that sometimes when I order stuff from America I ship it to my aunts house because A, the company might not ship to Canada and B, the shipping charges are ridiculous and I have no desire to pay that amount.

Yes, I bought more makeup, are you surprised? I’m not. From the time that this highlighter palette came out I’ve been telling myself that I didn’t need it. I mean I had just bought the ABH x Nicole G Glow kit, I really didn’t need any more. I kept telling myself no, and then one day I didn’t see it in store, I promptly went and bought it online. I would rather buy and return then forever regret not picking it up. So that’s how that guy made it home with me.

As a makeup and skin care lover, I use social media a lot to stay up to date with new launches, sales and even restocks. There are three types of products I often see, the ones that I know I want, the wants that get a quick pass and the ones that linger over knowing that I don’t need it but still kinda want it.
