Looking back on this year, I initially thought that I didn’t have too many moments, you know those ones that stand out or are important in some way. After looking back through the photos in my phone though I realize that I do have some great memories from this year.

I usually find this task difficult because it feels like so many of the things that I want to do are contingent on other factors. One thing I’ve realized is that I’ve spent so much time focused on making it through this year that apart from a few things there’s not much on my goals list.

Read MoreBooks have been a pleasure for me this year. I didn’t write as many review posts as I would have liked to and I promise I will do better on that in 2018. One of the stand out posts for me this year was about what a well written book looks like to me, and though as I mentioned already I didn’t write nearly as many reviews as I should have, the year was still full of literature that kept me entertained and even a bit in my feelings.

Midi rings have been something I wanted to start wearing for a while but I just couldn’t find ones that appealed to me and wouldn’t tarnish or change colour when I breathed on them. This year I hit the jack pot, Guess Accessories was closing and they had all of their jewelry on sale, let me tell you, I stocked up.
Read MoreThis year I’ve been pretty relaxed with my skin care routine. I just don’t have the energy to be too complex with what I’m applying to my face. The majority of the products that made it to my favourites list are aimed at providing maximum moisture and minimal effort on my part. I didn’t plan it that way but that how it turned out.

The newest addition to the family the Tarte Clay Play Face Shaping Palette quickly became a favourite and it’s a palette that I use daily in my makeup routine. I may not use each of my products as much as I want to but it’s not because I’m avoiding them, it’s simply that I have so many products that I’m trying to use. However there are some products in my collection that have just disappointed me. It was completely unexpected and I had high hopes for them but they just let me down.
Read MoreThis was an interesting year in beauty for me. I worked on curating my purchases and focused a bit more on mid to high end products. Makeup wise I've really been into a softer almost minimal look, I have worn some bright and bold eye looks but I tended to gravitate to simple look, brows done, mascara on the tip of my lashes, conceal under my eyes and add a bit of blush and highlight. That was my standard go-to look for the most part.
Read MoreI’ve read quite a few books this year, which doesn’t come as a surprise to me, reading is one of my favourite things to do when I have free time. I can’t articulate just why I enjoy reading so much, maybe I’m just a nosy person. After all reading does take into you the lives of other people, it tells you their stories and adventures. Their successes and triumphs and also their failures. Even if it’s all just a tall tale.
