Toners

Toners

Do you ever find yourself buying the same type of product over and over again. One or two would do the job, but yet somehow you find yourself making the purchase for this item or that item multiple times. It may be a different brand, different packaging or even a different formula but the job it does still remains the same. There are certain skincare items that I gravitate to more than others. I’ve combined my thoughts on each category and also a few products that I have my eye on and would purchase.

Cleansers

I’m not sure what it is about cleansers but I just want to purchase all the different types that appeal to me a try them. I found that there was a big difference in how my skin felt when I started using cleansers with a PH of 5.5 or lower. After rinsing the product away I found that my skin felt soft and smooth, it felt moisturized and not dry or irritated, which I love. I’ve also found that I sometimes like to grab products based on how I’m feeling, I do find that using the same cleanser over and over a bit boring so I like having a variety of cleansers in my arsenal that work great and leave my skin feeling nice.

On the List

  • CosRx Low PH Cleanser
  • Cremolab Oil Cleanser
  • Make P:rem Black Cleansing Water
  • Hemish All Clean Balm
  • Sulwhasoo Snowise EX Cleansing Foam
  • Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Oil
  • Amore Pacific illi Deep Cleansing Oil
  • MaNara Hot Cleansing Gel

Toners

I’m a bit meh about toners, there actually pretty amazing products in that depending on what you’re skin needs you can really tailor the toner to meet that need. If you’re looking for an acid toner, a moisturizing toner one that helps with oil control or just helps to remove any excess cleanser you can find that and more. I have a few toners in my arsenal but, this is the one step that I skip the most, so even though I hear about some great options I don’t pick them up because they’ll just sit on the shelf.

On the List

  • The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7%  Toning Solution
  • Klavuu White Pearlstation Revitalzing Pearl Treatment Toner

Serums

Serums are like spices there are so many available and each does its own special thing. Serum’s like cleansers are a skincare item that I could really purchase a lot of.I love that they can really help you target your skin concerns. If you want to improve the texture of your skin, reduce dark spots and hyper pigmentation or increase the moisture in your skin you can, there’s a serum that will help you with that. Because there not always incredibly expensive it’s not difficult to purchase a few different ones, it’s just using them correctly and giving them time to work.

On the List

  • Manyo Factory Galactomyces Niacin Treatment Essence Serum
  •  Neogen White Truffle Serum In Oil Drop
  • Neogen Dermatology Dual Layer Ceramide Oil
  • Erborian Dong Baek Camellia Essence
  • Biologique Recherche Serum-A-Glyca

Emulsions

Honestly because my skin is oily and isn’t dehydrated layering multiple moisturizing components in my routine isn’t necessary. That doesn’t mean that I don’t like the idea of these light lotion/ toner products. I’ve seen some great reviews for some emulsions and I’ll admit it stirs my interest but because I know that it will mostly likely not get used I don’t buy them.

If I don’t know how I’ll use it in my routine I try not to give into the wanting. Ideally an emulsion would be great in the winter but this winter has been pretty mild so far, so the extra layers haven’t been needed.

On the List

  • Son & Park Beauty Gel
  • SU:M 37 Water-Full Re-balancing Gel Lotion
  • CosRx Birch Sap Oil Free moisturizer

Creams

I love creams and the idea of creams, they just feel luxurious and satisfying when I smooth it on my skin. Even though I don’t have dry skin I know that having properly and adequately moisturized skin is important. I’ve learned the hard way that simply relying on a serum to provide the moisture my skin needs is not enough

On the list

  • Guerisson Delight Horse Cream
  • Banilla Co Mrs Flower

Treatments

I really enjoy acid treatments, okay not acid peels or anything but I like to use a mild BHA and AHA. I’m very interested in trying other serums and treatments that are out there. I like how they make my skin look and feel. Using my BHA and AHA treatments have helped the texture and appearance of my skin, it’s been one of the things that has made a real difference.

As with the other categories I have to focus on the treatments that help me achieve my skincare goals. Each treatment does something different so it doesn’t make sense to have every acid treatment out there if they are meant to work on an a problem or concern that I don’t have.

On the List

  • The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
  • The OrdinaryLactic Acid 5% + HA 2%
  • Neogen Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Wine

Masks

I don't wear masks often, whether they be sheet masks or clay masks. I do like to have them on hand though because sometimes I want to reach for one because my skin is acting weird and I want to help it by adding moisture or reign in some pimples. I think it's the time factor that gets me with masks, they're often times almost separate from your routine, and lately I've been lazy so doing above and beyond with my routine isn't on my mind. Multi-tasking masks are an idea that I like or ones that I can apply before hand and rinse off in the shower.

On the List

  • Make P:rem In Shower Face Mask
  • J. One Black Jelly Pack
