My Simplified Summer Skin Care Routine

my simplified skin care routine

If you’ve read any of my previous skin care posts, you might have noticed that I tend to use a good amount of products in my routine. I generally apply a multi-step process to my skin care routine. This summer though I’ve paired it down dramatically. This isn’t because I found a multi-step process to be too much or because my skin was reacting to any of the products, it was just laziness plain and simple. I didn’t feel like applying multiple serums and toners, so I didn’t.

My skin hasn’t suffered because of the change, in fact I would say it’s doing pretty well.

So what have I been doing?

In the morning, I often just rinse my face with warm water, if my skin feels especially oily then I’ll pull out a light cleanser I’m not particular about which one I use. Though I tend to reach for my Exfolikate, because I love that one. After that I apply my vitamin c serum, I was using a deluxe sample of the Sunday Riley Vitamin C serum but that one as sadly run out, so now I’m using the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum, which is okay so far. I let that absorb into my skin for about 10-15 minutes and then I mix my LJH Propolis Serum with my J.One Jelly Pack, I gently pat that into my skin and that rounds out my morning skin care routine. If Im going outside then I’ll apply sunscreen, my current favourite is my Hada Labo Spf 50 PA++++.

My evening routine is just as simple, if I’ve applied any makeup or sunscreen then I like to use my LJH Cleansing oil followed by a gentle cleanser, I’ve been rotating between my Exfolikate and Skin Laundry gel cleanser. After that I pretty much follow my morning routine, I apply my Ole Henriksen Truth Serum (yes I know you don’t need to apply a vitamin c serum in the evening) and then my moisturizer mix of propolis serum and jelly pack. If I use a chemical exfoliant then my steps do deviate, but I’ll write about that in another post.

What’s your skin care routine looking like this summer?
