The Stack| Quick Thoughts Nalini Singh Archangels Prophecy
/ natoyaOh my gosh. I’m in shock and actually quite dismayed. I just finished reading Nalini Singh’s new book Archangels Prophecy. It’s a punch to the gut and the worst cliff-hanger possible. This book was simply a roller-coaster, I had no idea what was coming next. Why was Elena getting weaker, which symptom would be next, where is this all heading?
It was more than I expected and I am glad for that. The author writes in such a way that you don’t know what’s around the corner, I couldn’t predict what the next chapter would hold.
The biggest surprise to me was the end, always in previous books there’s been a nice wrap up, a nice warm ending of things, however this book has got me all in my feelings. The ending, boy that ending. It had me shook, because I expected a culmination, not getting one and knowing that it will be a while before the next book comes out, leaves me feeling unfulfilled and unfinished.
I don’t know what to do with myself.
Let me begin by saying it won't be all of the books that I've read this year. I'm a prolific reader and have read quite a bit this year. I want to focus on the books that stood out to me, the ones that I enjoyed and the ones I anticipated. The list might be a bit long, so I'll not to run on too much about each book. You already know that I'm not the best at reviewing books anyway.

It's been a while, since I've talked books with you guys. I've been craving good books the way you crave good food. You know when you want something that is substantial that you can really sink your teeth into, that's what I've been wanting from my books. Unfortunately my favourite author's can't write new stories as fast I read their new books.
I did this last year, when I saw that some of my fave authors were going to be releasing new books in the coming year. Some of them I’m chopping at the bit to read, I can’t wait.
Books have been a pleasure for me this year. I didn’t write as many review posts as I would have liked to and I promise I will do better on that in 2018. One of the stand out posts for me this year was about what a well written book looks like to me, and though as I mentioned already I didn’t write nearly as many reviews as I should have, the year was still full of literature that kept me entertained and even a bit in my feelings.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Reading a well written book is a pleasure. Now I guess it can be a bit subjective, I mean many people consider the classics to be well written books, I on the other hand find them boring. So you see the definition of well written will vary from person to person.
So I usually post a book review, on this last Sunday. However I haven’t read any new books that compelled me to write a review about them. Instead I’ve been revisiting books from one of my fave authors Shelly Laurenston. I’ve mentioned her a few times here and here. So I’m dedicating this post to a few of my favourite books that she’s written, through all of her various series.
I was so apprehensive before I started reading this book. After reading the blurb I was expecting the worst and honestly I was scared thinking about what was gonna happen. I am quite pleased when I say that while there were definitely some unexpected turns in the story it worked out well in the end.
So for the past few weeks I've been binge reading books from the author Kathy Barton. I have a love hate relationship with her books. Her story lines are pretty unique and her catalog varied but there are sometimes gaps and jumps that simply make no sense in her books. Characters will do random things that seem to occur just to prolong the story line even though it's not necessary. It seems that she wants the story to go a certain way and does an abrupt lane change to make it happen.
One of the things that I get excited about at the beginning of the new year are the books that are expected to release during the year. Since it’s almost April I’ve caught a few books that have already been released like Toxic Game by Christine Feehan and Devil’s Daughter by Lisa Kleypas. There are so many more books that I’m looking forward to though. Some with a little more expectation than others, but I want to read everything on my list.
