Makeup Haul- Cyber Monday Goodies

So last month I ordered some makeup on Cyber Monday. From Beauty Joint I got a bunch of the NYX butter lip glosses because I really like them, I mention the two that I got in my IMAT’s haul (one of which I gave to my sister). From then I’ve just been waiting to pick up some more, they feel nice on the lips, not heavy but light and comfortable. The pigmentation is great, even with the pinky nude colours, they still show up on my lips. I would legit buy them all.

As you’ll see I’m in a bit of a pinky nude phase with my lip products, I blame you Ginger Snap.

I also grabbed two different LA Girl lip matte lip products and their infamous Pro Concealers and colour corrector.

From Looxi Beauty I picked up some highlighters and some eyeshadows. This is a small indie company but instead of having loose products they are all pressed. I did a group buy with some friends –we were trying to save on the shipping. It didn’t quite work because Canada Custom’s got us in the end

So I ordered 9 NYX Lip products but 4 were for my sister and I gave Transylvania to my mom, she likes to wear dark lip products.  That left me with 4. I like all of them.

Angel food cake- has a soft pink undertone, but still covers most of  the natural pigmentation in my lip

Copenhagen- This is a nice colour, I do wish that is was just a bit deeper (though you may be able to achieve a deeper colour by layering it multiple times). Because this one is a ‘matte’ colour I feel that the layering process is a little tricky. You have to let the first layer dry a bit before you’re able to add more otherwise you’re just adding and removing colour when it’s wet.

Madeline- is a great nude colour, it doesn’t lean grey on me, it’s a soft brown colour that works with my skin tone

Tiramisu – This matches the natural pink of lips so nicely. I never thought about a ‘my lips but better colour but this is it.  Love this, heck I love them all.

I do dislike the smell of the matte lip creams.

All in all they are a win for me, and I will definitely be purchasing more- when they go on sale.

As mentioned above, I also picked up the LA Girl pro concealers. I grabbed the orange colour corrector , Chestnut and Toffee. I like these I just have to remember that I'm not a Youtube guru, so I don't need to apply so much. For the price these do work great. I really like the colour corrector because it's so easy to blend. I've tried the Bobbi Brown corrector and found it difficult to blend out and spread, I also have the MAC Studio Conceal palette and I find that corrector difficult to use as well.

Next up LA Girl Matte Velvet lipsticks.

Hush and Snuggle are the two lipsticks I got. I find them similar in colour. I haven’t worn them alone but upon application they feel fine, not too tight. They don’t tug a lot on my lips.

The LA Girl Matte flat finish lip colors, these seem to be a liquid lipstick to me. They’re pigmented and do dry down to a matte finish. However they feel a bit tight on the lips when they dry, they also take a minute or two to dry down completely matte. There is a bit of transfer still if you touch something. The wear time is good but they tend to flake off my lips after a while.

I first heard about Looxi Beauty a couple of months ago, I was truthfully just waiting for them to have a sale. The shadows are regularly $5 USD available just in a pan. The highlighters are $7.50 just for the pan, there're also available in a compact for $15 I believe.

The shadows are very pigmented but soft so you need to be careful when handling the pans, otherwise you might take a chunk out of them by accident. I do find that the shimmery colours apply best when you use your fingers, the matte colours are great with a brush. My favourite shadow so far is Nirvana, it reminds me of MAC's blue brown pigment.

These swatches were done without any base and with just one swipe. I've separated them again into dark and neutral

So far I found that the highlighters work best when you use a dual fibre brush, I'm not sure how I feel about them yet, still trying to figure them out.

And that's the last of it.  I do wish that I had bought the Ever After highlight as well but there's still time for that.

I was going to include some skincare  I picked up but felt that the post was already a bit long. I'm planning on picking up a few more things so when all of my skincare goodies come in then I'll do a haul post for them.

thanks and have a good one
