Downtown Adventures | Bloor Village

This past Friday my friend and I trekked to a part of the city that I had never been to. High Park. She’d been there before but I hadn’t. It was a good day, the forecast had originally been rain and thunderstorms but thankfully it cleared up and was nice and sunny.

We met up at the Runnymede train station and walked to this little cafe called Baka, I wasn’t too hungry and neither was Asma so we walked down Bloor street.

I don’t want to live in Toronto, but I have to say that I love, absolutely love the small shops and stores that populate each neighbourhood. There were no less than five bakeries and at least four grocery stores with fresh fruit out front. You don’t see that in my city, at least not in any neighbourhood I’ve been in. To be fair I do live in the suburbs, so it’s mostly plaza’s and houses.

Anyhow back to our Day Trip, we had lunch at the Thai place, I had ginger chicken light on the ginger and Asma had the Spicy tiger shrimp dish. We had a conversation with a shop owner on fine point pens and gladly introduced her to the world of Muji. Had a cappuccino and some gelato, bought some cake and macarons and then trekked up to High Park, the actual park.

That’s pretty much the day in a nutshell. I’ve got a ton of photos so you can see my day through those.
