So I have a couple different toners in my skin care wardrobe that I use. For the most part they were pretty random purchases. Some like the LJH were just because it was on sale and I’d heard great things about the skin care line it belonged to, I figured I had nothing to lose. Other’s like the Guerisson Toner and Goodal First Essence are one’s that I had my eye on for a while. Since I’ve started using the 7 skin method I’ll bring up the toners in the order that I would use them.
Single Use First Tier
Son & Park Beauty Water.
This is a hybrid product of sorts, it’s a multi-tasking toner and cleansing water. It contains papaya extract and willow bark to mildly exfoliate, and lavender and rose water to hydrate and prep skin for the next steps in your skin care routine. I tend to use this as a cleansing toner to remove any makeup residue that might still be hanging around. This toner feels light weight and isn’t irritating to my skin, it doesn’t leave it feeling tight or itchy.
Pixi Glow Tonic
This is said to help tone, firm and tighten the skin. It removes dead skin cells for healthier looking skin. It contains ginseng to improve circulation, aloe vera to soothe and hydrate. The tonic is meant to refine the appearance of pores and gently accelerate cell renewal for brighter glowing skin. This was my substitute for the more expensive Biologique Recherche. I like it, it doesn’t stink or irritate my skin.
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
This toning solution offers mild exfoliation for improved skin radiance and visible clarity, with continued use it should improve the texture of your skin. This guy is new to my arsenal but so far I'm not sure about it. I've used it once and felt like my skin reacted. I'm plan on testing it again and will give an update.
Biologique Recherche Lotion P50.
This toner is meant to be a balancing exfoliator, it also works to hydrate, regulate excessive sebum secretion, and prep the skin. When used it does make the skin tingle due to the active ingredients in the product.I don’t use this toner that often any more, it’s almost out and I want to treasure the last little bits that I have. It is an expensive product that I would like to repurchase in the future.
NIOD Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist.
The Deciem website says that this should not be mistaken for a toner, from my understanding it’s meant to be a preventative of sorts. It acts as a fundamental daily force against oxidative stress, water loss and the look of inflammation. This should be used after cleansing and any treatments but before adding toner and the rest of your skin care. The mister is okay, sometimes dispersion can be a little rough.
Hylamide Hydra- Density Mist
The Deciem website says that this toner is an advanced treatment to support dermal water density for intense lightweight hydration and comfort. It contains marine saccharides, Australian pepperberry, tea polyphenols and rose for multi-depth water density. The mister on this isn’t the best, you get varying sizes of the product dispersed which can leave you with some areas of your face getting more product than others.
LJH Tea Tree 70 Mist Toner
The 70 in the name comes from the fact that it’s formulated with 70% tea tree extract. This is meant to remove any residue on skin while hydrating, soothing, and tightening pores. It also claims to even your skin tone and improve the texture of your skin. The mister on this is super fine and feels wonderful on the skin, it applies a light layer of product evenly and without any fuss. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave any residue at all.
Dear Enprani Moistfull Booskin
This is a booster-type toner that hydrates skin, prepares it for optimal absorption for the skincare products that you will apply on top of it, and delivers antioxidants for preventative anti-aging. Since it’s meant to give your skincare a boost I like to apply this before the other heavier toners. This is thin and watery so you don’t need much when applying, it absorbs into my skin nicely and doesn’t leave a residue of any kind.
Goodal Waterest First Essence.
This essence is meant to moisturize and hydrate the skin contains fermented extracts and hyaluronic acid which helps skin retain moisture. It also works to brighten the skin and has anti-wrinkling properties. This serum is a bit thicker in it’s consistency, like aloe vera gel but more watery.
Guerisson 9 Complex Horse Oil Essence.
It claims to be moisturizing and is meant to keep skin moist, and has anti-wrinkling and whitening properties, along with galactomyces and ceramides. Sounds pretty amazing right. I like to use this guy as my last toner and layer up on it because this toner is light and has a watery texture. It absorbs quickly into my skin and doesn’t leave it feeling tacky or heavy.
What does your toner wardrobe look like? Have you tried any of the ones I use?
