Perfume Review : Nest Midnight Fleur

Yes, I’ve got another Nest perfume, what can I say they make good fragrances.

I tend to wear this perfume during the day when I’m going out but I think that it would also work as a great night time fragrance.  It has a stronger impact on my senses than the previous fragrances I’ve reviewed. I know that I’m repeating myself when I say that I’m not the best at detecting and identifying the various notes in perfumes but this one has a warm, musky slightly floral fragrance to me.

It does wear well and it doesn’t morphe on my skin, I think this fragrance was constructed very well as I don’t notice much fadingof the notes throughout the day. Though the scent through may dim in strength it smells the same. The thought that comes to me is full bodied, though I might be using the term incorrectly, to me it’s rich and seems to be well rounded overall.

If a perfume could personify a person I would say that this scent is ladylike, it’s polished and sophisticated but has a dash of warmth and fun, so it doesn’t feel cold and stilted.

On the Sephora website it’s described as:

Exotic wood, patchouli, and black amber are blended with sensual notes of night-blooming jasmine and vanilla orchid. The combination of these notes is bold, irresistible, and purely sensual.

Inspired by the works of 18th Century British artist Mrs. Mary Delany, Laura Slatkin collaborated with master perfumers to translate these works of art into luxurious fragrances that capture the essence of each of the botanicals that adorn the products' striking packaging.

Notes:

Exotic Woods, Black Amber, Patchouli, Night-Blooming Jasmine, Vanilla Orchid.

Style:

Sensual. Intoxicating. Bold.

I completely agree with this description, and though I can’t pick out the individual notes of jasmine and vanilla, the overall vibe of this perfume is accurate. It’s bold and sensual, though I think it appropriate for day time use. But if you want to get your sexy on, I think this is a great subtle fragrance that can do the job.
