When you’re a makeup lover aka a makeup hoarder or collector if you want to make it sound nice, you’ll find that some items just don’t get that much love. When you bought it, you were crazy about it, but there’s just been other items you like more since then. As you may already know, having makeup sitting around unused is a pet peeve of mind, I never want to feel like I’ve wasted my money by purchasing this product which is now just collecting dust.
I’m not interested in doing a project pan or anything like that, just because I feel like that’s too rigid. Some people rotate the palettes that they use weekly, which means that the each product in your collection gets a chance to shine. Hopefully it’s a bright pigmented, smooth application shine as opposed to a dull and lack lustre.
Bobbi Brown |Bobbi to Glow Highlighter Palette
This was the Holiday 2016 palette, having watching some reviews and seeing how well it did, I thought hey it’s on sale right now, so it’s not a bad time to pick it up. This is my first Bobbi Brown makeup purchase, it’s not a bad palette and I really do need to play with it more. It’s definitely more of a beaming highlight, so I usually try and tone it down.
Too Faced | Chocolate Bar Palette
I’ve been hearing about this palette for years, many a beauty YouTuber claims it has their favourite palette. So when Too Faced was having a 40% off sale with an additional 20% off I picked up this guy along with the Sweet Peach Palette. I ended up getting two palettes for the price of one. However I’ve barely swatched this guy, it’s spent most of it’s life tucked at the bottom of my makeup drawer.
Urban Decay | Electric Palette
This is another palette that I picked up when Urban Decay was having a sale, it’s bright and vibrant hence the name. With warmer weather coming I’ll try and create more looks that are colourful so I’ll be able to incorporate shades from this palette. If all else fails then I will resort to using them as liners.
Kat Von D | Metal Matte Palette
When I first saw reviews for this bad boy I was totally into it. Bought it, got it home put it up on my vanity where I could see it and then barely touched it again. The problem isn’t the palette, it’s the fact that since I purchased it, I’ve added a ton more palettes to my collection. I kid you not I’ve literally bought 10 eyeshadow palettes since then. Crazy I know, but don’t judge me. Do I like them all, yes, does it make it harder to get use out of all of them, just a bit. I have no regrets though, I enjoy each one. Another issue is the fact that I don’t end up wearing makeup that often, I mean I’ll play with it before I head into the shower, which I have done with the Metal Matte Palette, I just don’t end up wearing makeup out of my house that much because I’m not leaving my house that much.
I have quite a few eyeshadow palettes that I want/need to use more, one would think that I have no desire to purchase more eyeshadowpalettes, you would be wrong. There are a few palettes that I currently have my eye on, there’s one from Ace Beauty, that reminds me a bit of the Natasha Denona Sunset palette but with more pops of colour. Colourpop is also entering the eyeshadow palette gang and those look nice, lastly Coloured Raine is launching a few palettes, so I’m going to keep an eye out for those.
What products do you think need a bit more love and affection in your makeup collection?
