Books have been a pleasure for me this year. I didn’t write as many review posts as I would have liked to and I promise I will do better on that in 2018. One of the stand out posts for me this year was about what a well written book looks like to me, and though as I mentioned already I didn’t write nearly as many reviews as I should have, the year was still full of literature that kept me entertained and even a bit in my feelings.

This year I wanted to cultivate a more feminine aesthetic with my style. In times past oversized and comfy was what I preferred. I wanted to change it up this year.
Midi rings have been something I wanted to start wearing for a while but I just couldn’t find ones that appealed to me and wouldn’t tarnish or change colour when I breathed on them. This year I hit the jack pot, Guess Accessories was closing and they had all of their jewelry on sale, let me tell you, I stocked up.

This year I’ve been pretty relaxed with my skin care routine. I just don’t have the energy to be too complex with what I’m applying to my face. The majority of the products that made it to my favourites list are aimed at providing maximum moisture and minimal effort on my part. I didn’t plan it that way but that how it turned out.

If you’ve seen my favourites blog posts over the pas year then the majority if not all of these products will be quite familiar. The newest addition to the family the Tarte Clay Play Face Shaping Palette quickly became a favourite and it’s a palette that I use daily in my makeup routine. Some were on my radar while others just popped up, either way for some reason or another the implausible and unthinkable happened. I didn’t set any goals this year, it felt like everything was so up in the air with me job searching. Many of the things that I wanted to accomplish or do depended on money and since it wasn’t certain I really didn’t feel like writing them down only to be disappointed.

I don’t have many products that I find to be disappointing. I may not use each of my products as much as I want to but it’s not because I’m avoiding them, it’s simply that I have so many products that I’m trying to use. However there are some products in my collection that have just disappointed me. It was completely unexpected and I had high hopes for them but they just let me down.

So if you’ve read my Black Friday/ Cyber Monday Haul post, then you know that I grabbed the new Nar’s palette as soon as it was available. I’ve been able to use it a few times and I like it, you do have to use something for the more glitter filled shades, otherwise you will end up with it all over your face.

Due to the oily nature of my eyelids I always use an eyeshadow primer, and by primer I don’t mean concealer, cause that doesn’t cut it. Sometimes though my primer might need a little help bringing out the best that a shadow as to offer. So I’ve made a small list of 5 products that I use to bring out vibrancy in my shadows.
