One of the things that I get excited about at the beginning of the new year are the books that are expected to release during the year. Since it’s almost April I’ve caught a few books that have already been released like Toxic Game by Christine Feehan and Devil’s Daughter by Lisa Kleypas. There are so many more books that I’m looking forward to though. Some with a little more expectation than others, but I want to read everything on my list.Read More
Looking back on this year, I initially thought that I didn’t have too many moments, you know those ones that stand out or are important in some way. After looking back through the photos in my phone though I realize that I do have some great memories from this year.Read More
Every year I try and think of what my goals and plans are for the coming year. I usually find this task difficult because it feels like so many of the things that I want to do are contingent on other factors. One thing I’ve realized is that I’ve spent so much time focused on making it through this year that apart from a few things there’s not much on my goals list.Read More
This is my first Jo Malone perfume, I was expecting it to be strong and overpowering. However I didn’t find it to be that way at all. I was pleasantly surprised. Jo Malone has a reputation of producing quality fragranced products whether it be their perfumes or their candles.Read More
Let me begin by saying it won't be all of the books that I've read this year. I'm a prolific reader and have read quite a bit this year. I want to focus on the books that stood out to me, the ones that I enjoyed and the ones I anticipated. The list might be a bit long, so I'll not to run on too much about each book. You already know that I'm not the best at reviewing books anyway.Read More
Oh my gosh. I’m in shock and actually quite dismayed. I just finished reading Nalini Singh’s new book Archangels Prophecy. It’s a punch to the gut and the worst cliff-hanger possible. This book was simply a roller-coaster, I had no idea what was coming next. Why was Elena getting weaker, which symptom would be next, where is this all heading?Read More
It's been a while, since I've talked books with you guys. I've been craving good books the way you crave good food. You know when you want something that is substantial that you can really sink your teeth into, that's what I've been wanting from my books. Unfortunately my favourite author's can't write new stories as fast I read their new books.Read More
This year has been going by so fast, even though we're just a month into fall I feel like I've missed so much. Apart from the drop in temperature, fall is one of my favourite times of year. It's not really about the things that you can do in fall but rather a feeling.Read More
We are fast approaching fall, so things are going to change. No more hot humid sun packed days or warm evening strolls.Like the changes to the season, I want to make some changes in my life.
Since I've started working again a lot of things that I used to keep up with have fallen to the wayside, like my health.
It’s not something that I’ve talked about here on my blog explicitly, though I’ve mentioned in a round about way in various posts. As a woman of colour it’s so frustrating to hear that a new product as launched, get excited about it and then realize that it most likely won’t work with your skin tone. Many of the mainstream brands seem to want to cater to only a select group of people even though you have millions of consumers that don’t fit in the narrow range that they consistently gear products toward.Read More
